Setting wireless playback quality

You can set whether to prioritize the sound quality or the stability of the connection.

Prioritize connection is selected at the time of purchase. You can change the setting by following the procedures below.

  1. Press and hold the button () on the right () side of your Walkman for 3 seconds to turn the Walkman off.
  2. To change the sound quality setting, press and hold the button () while pressing the button ( or ) on the left () side of your Walkman for 5 seconds. The Walkman turns on and the wireless playback quality setting is changed.
  3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to change the setting again.

    • If you press the button () in step 2, the wireless playback quality setting changes in the following order: Prioritize connection, Standard, Prioritize sound quality. The setting does not change if Prioritize sound quality is already selected.

    • If you press the button () in step 2, the wireless playback quality setting changes in the following order: Prioritize sound quality, Standard, Prioritize connection. The setting does not change if Prioritize connection is already selected.

Prioritize connection

The lamp () on the left () side of your Walkman blinks in blue once when changed to this setting.

The sound quality may not be as good as in other modes, but the connection status will most likely be stable. This setting is recommended if the connection is unstable.


Standard

The lamp () blinks in blue twice when changed to this setting.

Stabilizes both connection and sound quality.


Prioritize sound quality

The lamp () blinks in blue three times when changed to this setting.

Sound is transmitted in high quality, but the connection may become unstable.

Hint

  • Select prioritize sound quality to play songs with aptX/AAC Codec.

Note

  • Changing the wireless playback quality setting of your Walkman may not have any effect depending on the settings of the smartphone.
