Follow the instructions below if a message appears in the display.
[Cannot play; file format is not supported.]
  • You are trying to play a file that cannot be played on your Walkman.

  • You cannot play a song in an unsupported format file [Details].

[Cannot save more than 30 Preset stations.]
  • 30 broadcast stations are already preset.

  • Delete unnecessary stations first [Details], then preset the stations you want within the limit number.

[Do not disconnect.]
  • Your Walkman is connected to a computer or other external devices to transfer data.

  • This is not an error message. Do not disconnect the USB cable until transferring completes.

[LOW BATTERY. Please Charge.]
  • The battery of your Walkman is running low.

[Not enough free space in memory. Delete files to ensure free space.]
  • The available capacity of your Walkman is insufficient.

  • Connect the Walkman to your computer using the supplied USB cable, and then delete any unnecessary data from the Walkman using another software used for transferring, or Windows Explorer.

[On hold... Cancel HOLD function by pressing and holding the OPTION button]
  • Your Walkman cannot be operated because the HOLD function is on.

  • To operate the Walkman, press and hold the OPTION/PWR/HOLD button to cancel the HOLD function [Details].

[Check the volume level]
  • An alarm (beep) and warning [Check the volume level] are meant to protect your ears when you raise the volume setting beyond [14]. You can cancel the alarm and warning by pressing any button.

  • You can turn up the volume beyond [14] after canceling the alarm and warning.

  • After the initial warning, the alarm and warning repeat for every 20 cumulative hours that the volume is set beyond [14]; when this happens, the volume is changed to the initial setting automatically.
