You cannot charge the device.

  • Charge the battery in an environment between 5 °C to 35 °C (41 °F to 95 °F).
  • When charging via computer, it is necessary for the computer to be turned on. Be sure that the computer is not in standby (sleep) or hibernation.
  • Use an AC adapter (sold separately) that corresponds with the device.
  • Check that the connection to the computer is made properly.
  • There may be bad electrical contact. Disconnect the USB, and then reconnect it.
  • Use the supplied USB cradle.
  • The device may not be able to connect properly to your computer when using a USB hub. Connect directly to the USB terminal on your computer.
  • Check whether your computer’s OS and version support charging.
  • The battery may have deteriorated if you have not used the device for more than a year. Contact your nearest Sony dealer.
  • If the remedies above do not solve the problem, reset the device, and then reconnect via USB.
