You can change the Intel Smart Connect Technology settings in VAIO Control Center.
Intel Smart Connect Technology is enabled by default. With this function, your VAIO computer connects to the Internet regularly and informs you of email notifications, Social Networking Service (SNS) notifications, etc. even if the computer is in Sleep mode.
If your VAIO computer requires password entry before Windows starts, the computer will automatically shut down during the specified time period in order to save power consumption, depending on the model.
To prevent your VAIO computer from automatically shutting down, select Details and set State during sleep mode to Sleep in Setting for the time period when you don't often use your VAIO.
The battery life is shortened if you select Sleep.
To extend the battery life, you can set a time period in which you do not intend to use your VAIO computer. During the specified time period, the computer's power consumption decreases.
If apps are running when your VAIO computer enters Sleep mode, the computer notifies you of new updates for the running apps during Sleep mode.
