Backing Up Data on Your Tablet

You should copy the data in your tablet and store it on another storage device (backup). Various data such as recorded images, downloaded music and video content will accumulate in your tablet as you use them. If unexpected problems occur with your tablet, that data may be damaged or lost. As a preventive measure in case of such accidents, you should make frequent backups so you will be able to restore your important data.

Note

Some data on your tablet cannot be backed up.

Some settings and apps may not have any backup method. Make written notes and keep them in a safe place.

Data you can back up

You can copy and store the following data with your tablet for backup.

Music/movie/eBook files without copyright protection

Pictures/wallpapers

That data is stored in the following folders.

Music files: \Music

Wallpaper files: \Pictures

Movie files: \Movies

Picture files: \DCIM

Backing up data (copying)

Use the [File transfer] app to store the data on a commercially available SD memory card.

Tap [ Apps & Widgets] followed by [ File transfer] to start the [File transfer] app.

Insert the SD memory card into the SD card slot.

Select the file/folder you want to copy from your tablet.

Tap .

A folder called “\transferred” is created on the SD memory card, and the data is copied to that folder.
