Replacing a clip's media
Replacing a clip's media preserves the length and position of a clip on the timeline, but replaces the media file that is displayed by the clip.

In the timeline, select the clip you want to edit. For more information, see "Selecting clips and positioning the cursor."

In the Media Browser, select the media file that you want to use to replace the selected clip.

Click the Tools button
at the bottom of the Media Browser below the timeline and choose Replace media with selection from the menu.The clip and is updated to use the file from the Media Browser.
If you replace a clip with a shorter media file, the last frame of the new file will repeat until the end of the clip.
If you replace a clip with a longer media file, the clip length does not change.
You can trim the clip to match the length of the new media file. For more information, see "Trimming clips."
