Sound separation
Sound separation is a technique where multiple sound elements (speaking voice, music, ambient sounds, etc.) are divided and picked out from one piece of sound source data.
In Catalyst Prepare, you can separate a single audio track that has mixed recordings into independent audio tracks.

In the upper part of the Catalyst Prepare window, click the Organize button to display the media browser.

Select the clip you want to use Sound separation on.

To view the Sound separation workspace, execute any of the following operations.

Click the Sound separation at the bottom of the Catalyst Prepare window.

In the bottom part of the Catalyst Prepare window, click the Tools button and select Sound separation.

In the Organize pane, right click the clip, then click the Sound separation button from the shortcut menu.
Even if multiple clips are selected, Sound separation can still be used.

Use the Sound separation workspace to configure the sound separation settings for the selected clip.

Click the Organize button to select the save destination folder for the files.

Select the tracks to be separated. You can select voice, wind, or other, and export it.

You can check Custom Suffix to edit the suffix of the exported files.

Select the format of the files to be exported.。

Click the Export button to start exporting the audio folder with sound separation applied.
The output format is WAV. Currently, Catalyst Prepare does not support WAV, so open the exported folder in your browser to check.
Sounds included in video clips must be the following format.

Sound format: PCM

Sample rate: 48 kHz

Bit rate: 16 bit/24 bit

Channels: 2 or more *1 *2
*1 If there are 2 or more channels, the sounds in the first two channels will be separated and processed.
*2 The input 2-channel audio source must be a stereo recording made with the same microphone.If it includes separately recorded audio, correct separation may not be possible.

The progress will be displayed in the Activity pane at the top of the Catalyst Prepare window. If multiple files are selected, you can include multiple files in each export job. If multiple export jobs are queued, the progress for each job will be displayed.
