WALKMANNWZ-F886/F887

Notes on Wi-Fi Connection

  • Use of Wi-Fi products may be restricted by local regulations in some countries or regions.
  • Wi-Fi devices work on the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, which are used by a variety of devices. Wi-Fi devices use technology to minimize radio interference from other devices that use the same band. However, radio interference may still cause slower data transfer rates, reduce communication range, or cause communication failure.
  • If both the Wi-Fi function and the Bluetooth function of your Walkman are enabled, interference may occur and cause slower data transfer rates or other problems.
  • To communicate via Wi-Fi while traveling, you may need to contract with a Wi-Fi connection service provider.
  • Data transfer rate and communications range may vary depending on the following conditions.
    • Distance between devices
    • Presence of obstructions between devices
    • Device configuration
    • Signal conditions
    • Surrounding environment (wall material, etc.)
    • Software in use
  • Communications may be cut off depending on signal conditions.
  • The data transfer rate specified in the specifications is the theoretical maximum, and may not reflect the actual data transfer rate.
  • The actual data transfer rate may not be as fast as the rate displayed on the screen.
  • The 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi frequency bands are not communicable with one another.
  • If the data transfer rate is not as fast as expected, changing the wireless channel on the access point may increase the rate.
  • The Wi-Fi antenna is built in to your Walkman. If you cover the antenna () with your hands or other objects while using the Wi-Fi function, the Wi-Fi connection may deteriorate.
