Connect your Walkman to a UDA-1 USB DAC AMPLIFIER¹⁾ and speakers compatible with High-Resolution Audio to enjoy High-Resolution Audio on your Walkman from speakers. Feel the depth and spaciousness difficult to express with headphones.

¹⁾ UDA-1 USB DAC AMPLIFIER has USB ports on the front and rear. To enjoy High-Resolution Audio, use a USB adapter cable for High-Resolution Audio output (sold separately) and connect it to the rear USB port. Track data is input to the amplifier as digital data in a way that there is little degradation at sound output. In this case, no sound quality settings can be made on your Walkman.

Connection/operating procedures

Set up speakers and other devices.

Speakers should be set up so an equilateral triangle is formed by the speakers and the listener. Better effects are gained if the tweeters are positioned at the same height as the listener’s ears.

Connect USB DAC AMPLIFIER and speakers.

Refer to the instruction manuals for the USB DAC AMPLIFIER and speakers.

Connect your Walkman to the USB port on the rear of the USB DAC AMPLIFIER.

A: USB adapter cable for High-Resolution Audio output (WMC-NWH10)
B: USB cable (Type B)

Turn on the USB DAC AMPLIFIER.

Press the USB DAC AMPLIFIER’s INPUT SELECTOR button repeatedly until USB REAR is selected.

If SS-HA3 speakers are used, settings tuned for the SS-HA3 can be selected using the EQUALIZER switch on the rear of the USB DAC AMPLIFIER.

Turn down the volume with the USB DAC AMPLIFIER’s VOLUME control.

On the Home screen, tap - [Settings] - [Sound] - [Volume], and to turn up the volume to maximum for [Music, video, games, & other media].

Play a High-Resolution music file on your Walkman.

Adjust the volume with the USB DAC AMPLIFIER’s VOLUME control.

Enjoy the spaciousness of High-Resolution Audio from the speakers, transmitted through vibration of the air.
