Shooting still images

Set the mode switch to (Still Image), then press the ON/OFF (Power) button.

Hold the camera steady as illustrated.

Press the shutter button halfway down to focus.

The shortest shooting distance is approximately 1 cm (13/32 inches) (W), 50 cm (19 3/4 inches) (T) (from the lens).

Press the shutter button fully down.

If the camera cannot focus on a subject automatically, the AE/AF lock indicator changes to slowly flashing and the beep will not sound. Either recompose the shot or change the focus setting. [Details]

Focusing may be difficult in the following situations:

It is dark and the subject is distant.

The contrast between the subject and the background is poor.

The subject is behind glass.
-
The subject is moving quickly.
-
There is reflective light or shiny surfaces.
-
The subject is backlit or there is a flashing light in the image frame.
