The power abruptly turns off.
  • Use the AC Adaptor (models with an AC Adaptor).

  • In the default setting, the camcorder turns itself off when no operations are performed for about 2 minutes ([Power Save]). Change the setting of [Power Save], or turn on the power again. [Details]

The POWER/CHG (charge) lamp does not light while the battery pack is being charged.
  • Attach the battery pack to the camcorder correctly. [Details]

  • Connect the power cord (mains lead) to the wall outlet (wall socket) properly (models with an AC Adaptor).

  • Connect the Built-in USB Cable properly when charging the battery pack using a computer.

The POWER/CHG (charge) lamp flashes while the battery pack is being charged.
  • When the battery is being charged using the Built-in USB Cable, disconnect the Built-in USB Cable and connect it again.

  • If the temperature of the battery pack is too high or too low, you may not be able to charge it. [Details]

  • Attach the battery pack to the camcorder correctly. If the problem persists, disconnect the AC Adaptor (models with an AC Adaptor) from the wall outlet (wall socket) and contact your Sony dealer. The battery pack may be damaged. [Details]

The remaining battery time indicator does not indicate the correct time.
  • The ambient temperature is too high or too low. This is not a malfunction.

  • The battery pack has not been charged enough. Fully charge the battery again. If the problem persists, replace the battery pack with a new one. [Details]

  • The indicated time may not be correct depending on the environment in which the camcorder is used.

The battery pack is quickly discharged.
  • The ambient temperature is too high or low. This is not a malfunction.
