Batteries/power sources

The power abruptly turns off.
  • Use the AC Adaptor (sold separately).

  • In the default setting, the camcorder turns itself off when no operations are performed for about 5 minutes ([Power Save]). Change the setting of [Power Save], or turn on the power again. [Details]

The CHG (charge) lamp does not light while the battery pack is being charged.
  • Attach the battery pack to the camcorder correctly. [Details]

  • When using an AC Adaptor (sold separately), connect the plug to the wall outlet (wall socket) properly.

  • Connect the USB cable (supplied) properly when charging the battery pack using a computer.

The CHG (charge) lamp flashes while the battery pack is being charged.
  • When the battery is being charged using the USB cable (supplied), disconnect the USB cable (supplied) and connect it again.

  • If the temperature of the battery pack is too high or too low, you may not be able to charge it. [Details]

  • Attach the battery pack to the camcorder correctly. If the problem persists, disconnect the plug from the camcorder and contact your Sony dealer. The battery pack may be damaged. [Details]

The remaining battery power is not displayed correctly.
  • The ambient temperature is too high or too low. This is not a malfunction.

  • The battery pack has not been charged enough. Fully charge the battery again. If the problem persists, replace the battery pack with a new one. [Details]

  • The indicated remaining battery power may not be correct depending on the environment in which the camcorder is used.

The battery pack is quickly discharged.
  • The ambient temperature is too high or low. This is not a malfunction.

  • The battery pack has not been charged enough. Fully charge the battery again. If the problem persists, replace the battery pack with a new one. [Details]
