General

  • Poor picture on “BRAVIA” Internet Video.
  • Small picture on “BRAVIA” Internet Video.
  • Certain Internet video programmes display a loss of detail, especially during fast-motion or dark scenes.
  • Good picture quality but no sound on the Internet video content.
  • You do not see many videos in the Internet Video Guide.
  • Distorted picture and/or sound.
  • TV turns off automatically.
  • TV turns on automatically.

Poor picture on “BRAVIA” Internet Video.
  • The quality of the video displayed on your TV depends on the quality of the video provided by the video content provider as well as your connected bandwidth.
Small picture on “BRAVIA” Internet Video.
  • Press / to zoom in and out.
Certain Internet video programmes display a loss of detail, especially during fast-motion or dark scenes.
  • Video quality and picture size vary and are dependent upon broadband speed and delivery by content providers.
Good picture quality but no sound on the Internet video content.
  • Quality depends on content provided by the video content provider as well as your connected bandwidth.
  • Due to the nature of Internet video, not all videos will contain sound.
You do not see many videos in the Internet Video Guide.
  • Press the OPTIONS button and select categories to view more content.
Distorted picture and/or sound.
  • Keep the TV away from electrical noise sources such as cars, hair-dryers or optional equipment.
  • When installing optional equipment, leave some space between the equipment and TV.
  • Check the antenna (aerial)/cable connection.
  • Keep the antenna (aerial)/cable TV cable away from other connecting cables.
TV turns off automatically.
  • Check if “Sleep Timer” is activated, or confirm the “Duration” setting of “On Timer”.
  • Check if “Idle TV Standby” in “Eco” is activated.
  • Check if “Presence Sensor” in “Eco” is activated.
TV turns on automatically.
  • Check if “On Timer” is activated.
Some input sources cannot be selected.
  • Select “AV Preset” and confirm the “Always” setting for the input sources.
HDMI equipment does not appear on “HDMI Device Selection”.
  • Check that your equipment is compatible with “Control for HDMI” and the value of “Control for HDMI” is “On”.
You cannot select “Off” in “Control for HDMI”.
  • You cannot select “Off” for any audio system compatible with “Control for HDMI”. If you want to change the audio output to the TV speaker, select Speakers > TV Speakers.
Not all channels are tuned for cable.
  • Check the support website for cable provider information.

Intelligent Presence Sensor is unintentionally activated.
  • Be sure that there is nothing within the detection range that causes the sensor to falsely recognise the audience, such as a poster on the wall.
  • Be sure that there are no moving objects within the detection range that cause the sensor to falsely recognise the audience, such as a pendulum clock or curtains, for example.
Intelligent Presence Sensor does not work correctly.
  • Check the performance level of the sensor displayed on the menu screen.“Presence Sensor”: Press HOME, then select > System Settings > Eco > Presence Sensor.“Distance Alert” or “Position Control”: Press HOME, then select > System Settings > Distance Alert/Position Control.
  • Avoid placing any obstacles in front of the sensor.
  • The sensor may not work properly if the ambient light is dark or the audience is backlit.
  • The sensor only works when inputs other than a PC or broadcasts are displayed in full screen. The sensor may also not work properly when you are watching 3D content.
  • The sensor may not recognise facial patterns depending on the circumstances (e.g., when the audience is looking down, lying motionless, or wearing face masks or glasses).
