Playable Discs/Files
Shows playable disc types. You can play different types of discs inserted into the disc slot.
Playable discs
- BD
- - BD-ROM
- - BD-R: Ver 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 including organic pigment type BD-R (LTH type)
- - BD-RE: Ver 2.1
- DVD
- - DVD-ROM/DVD-R/DVD-RW/DVD+R/DVD+RW
- CD
- - CD-DA (Music CD)/CD-ROM/CD-R/CD-RW/Super Audio CD
- Since the BD specifications are new and evolving, some discs may not be playable depending on their type and version. Audio output will differ depending on the source, connected output jack (socket), and selected audio settings.
- The BD-Rs recorded on a PC cannot be played if postscripts are recordable.
- A CD or DVD disc will not play if it has not been correctly finalised. For more information, refer to the instruction manual supplied with the recording device.

- BDs with cartridge
- DVD-RAMs
- HD DVDs
- DivX discs
- DVD Audio discs
- PHOTO CDs
- Data part of CD-Extras
- VCDs/Super VCDs
- Audio material side on DualDiscs
- BD-ROMs/DVD VIDEOs with a different region code.
Region Code (BD-ROM/DVD VIDEO only)
The TV has a region code located on the rear of the unit and will only play BD/DVD discs labelled with identical region codes or multi-region codes, such as shown below.
Playable Types of Files
- Video
- - MPEG-1 Video/PS* (files with the extension “.mpg” or “.mpeg”)
- - MPEG-2 Video/PS, TS* (files with the extension “.m2ts” or “.mts”)
- - MPEG4/AVC* (files with the extension “.mkv”, “.mp4”, “.m4v”, “.m2ts” or “.mts”)
- - WMV9* (files with the extension “.wmv” or “.asf”)
- - AVCHD (Plays AVCHD format files that are recorded on a digital video camera, etc.)
* The TV will not play coded files, such as DRM.
- Music
- - MP3 (MPEG-1 Audio Layer III) (files with the extension “.mp3”)
- - AAC*(files with the extension “.m4a”)
- - WMA9 Standard* (files with the extension “.wma”)
- - LPCM (files with the extension “.wav”)
- Photo
- - JPEG (files with the extension “.jpg” or “.jpeg”)
* The TV will not play coded files, such as Lossless.
- Some files may not play depending on the format, the encoding, or recording condition.
- The TV can recognise the following files or folders in BDs, DVDs, CDs:
- - folders up to (and including) the 5th tree
- - up to 500 files in a single tree
- The TV may not play a high bit rate video file on a DATA CD smoothly. DATA DVD is recommended.
