Picture Symptoms: General

  • Tiny black points and/or bright points appear on the screen.
  • The pictures are distorted.
  • No picture colour./Dark picture.
  • The screen alternates between dark and bright.
  • No picture colour from equipment connected to the COMPONENT IN jacks (sockets).
  • Distorted picture and/or sound.

Tiny black points and/or bright points appear on the screen.
  • The screen is composed of pixels. Tiny black points and/or bright points (pixels) on the screen do not indicate a malfunction.
The pictures are distorted.
  • Set [Motionflow] to [Standard] or [Off]. (For [Motionflow] compatible models only.)
  • Change the current setting of [Film Mode] to another setting.
  • Set [LNA] to [Off] to improve picture reception. ([LNA] may not be available depending on the situation.)
  • Adjust [AFT] (Automatic Fine Tuning) to improve picture for analogue reception. ([AFT] may not be available depending on your region/country.)
  • Keep the TV away from noise sources such as mobile phones, cars, motorcycles, or hair-dryers.
  • If using the 300-ohm twin lead, move the excess lead away from the TV or try using the 75-ohm coaxial cable (not supplied) instead. Use of high-quality 75-ohm coaxial cable (double shield cable) is recommended.
No picture colour./Dark picture.
  • Select [Reset] in [Picture].
  • If [Presence Sensor] is set to [Moderate], the screen darkens temporarily when the sensor does not recognise any facial patterns, or the picture turns off after no movement is detected for a preset time. (For Intelligent Presence Sensor-compatible models only.)

No picture colour from equipment connected to the COMPONENT IN jacks (sockets).
  • Check the connection of the COMPONENT IN jacks (sockets) and check if connectors are fully plugged in.
Distorted picture and/or sound.
  • Keep the TV away from electrical noise sources such as cars, hair-dryers, Wi-Fi units, mobile phones, or optical equipment.
  • When installing optional equipment, leave some space between the equipment and TV.
  • Check the antenna (aerial)/cable connection.
  • Keep the antenna (aerial)/cable TV cable away from other connecting cables.
  • Adjust [AFT] (Automatic Fine Tuning) to improve picture/sound for analogue reception. ([AFT] may not be available depending on your region/country.)
  • Set [LNA] to [Off] to improve picture reception. ([LNA] may not be available depending on the situation.)
  • Set [Audio Filter] to [Low] or [High] to improve sound for analogue reception. ([Audio Filter] may not be available depending on your region/country.)
