Sound Symptoms
No sound but good picture.
- Check the volume control.
- Press or + button to cancel muting.
- Set [Speakers] to [TV Speakers] in the [Sound] setting. If it is set to [Audio System], TV speakers do not output sound regardless of the TV’s volume control.
- When using HDMI input with Super Audio CD or DVD-Audio, DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL) may not provide an audio signal.
- Check the [Maximum Volume] setting. If the upper limit is set too low, TV sound may not be heard.
Audio noise.
- Make sure that the antenna (aerial) is connected using a 75-ohm coaxial cable.
- Keep the antenna cable away from other connecting cables.
- To avoid TV interference, make sure to use an undamaged antenna (aerial) cable.
No audio or low audio with home theatre system.
- Set [Speakers] to [Audio System] in the [Sound] setting.
- Set [Audio Out] to [Fixed] in the [Sound] setting.
- If you select an analogue (RF) channel and pictures are displayed correctly, change the TV broadcast system. Press the HOME button, then select [Settings] → [Analogue Set-up] → [Manual Programme Preset] → [TV System]. (Availability of [Manual Programme Preset] or option name differs depending on the region/country/situation.)
Distorted sound.
- Check the antenna (aerial)/cable connection.
- Keep the antenna (aerial)/cable TV cable away from other connecting cables.
- Keep the TV away from electrical noise sources such as cars, hair-dryers, Wi-Fi units, mobile phones, or optical device.
- When installing optional device, leave some space between the device and TV.
- Perform [AFT] to improve sound for analogue reception.
- Set [Audio Filter] to [Low] or [High] to improve sound for analogue reception. ([Audio Filter] may not be available depending on your region/country.)
