Turning the AVLS function on or off (European models only)

When the AVLS function is set to “ON,” the “AVLS” is displayed and you cannot adjust the volume to a level that exceeds the AVLS-specified level. This function is set to “ON” at the time of purchase, but you can also turn the function off.
  1. In the stop or playback mode, press MENU to enter the menu mode.
  2. Press souni_cue_fr or souni_cue_ff to select “AVLS,” and then press souni_playPLAY/ENTER.
  3. Press souni_cue_fr or souni_cue_ff to select “AVLS OFF” (when you turn off the AVLS function) or “AVLS ON” (when you turn on the AVLS function), and then press souni_playPLAY/ENTER.

    When you select “AVLS OFF,” “AVLS OFF” flashes with a beeping sound.

  4. Press souni_playPLAY/ENTER.
  5. Press souni_stop (stop) to exit the menu mode.

Descriptions of menu items

You can select one of the menu items available.

AVLS ON:

You cannot adjust the volume to a level that exceeds the AVLS-specified level.

(Initial setting)

AVLS OFF:

You can play files at the original volume.

Note

  • If you play back files at volume that exceeds the AVLS-specified level for specified period of time, “AVLS” in the menu is automatically set to “AVLS ON.”
  • When you turn off the AVLS function, please be careful not to listen to an excessive volume of the sound.
  • When you listen to the sound using the headphones for the specific period of time, the AVLS function is automatically turned on even if you set “AVLS” is set to “AVLS OFF” in the menu.
