“Screen Off Timer” is set to “No Auto Screen Off.”
When you set “Screen Off Timer” to “Auto Screen Off,” if no operation is attempted for approximately 30 seconds in the stop mode and for approximately 10 seconds in the recording and playback modes, the display turns off automatically to save the battery power.
- Measured values acquired under our measurement conditions. These values may decrease depending on the usage conditions.
- Even if you do not use the IC recorder, the battery is consumed slightly. If you do not intend to use the IC recorder for an extended period of time, it is recommended that you turn the power off. Moreover, if you set “Auto Power Off” to a short span in the menu, you can prevent the battery from being consumed due to forgetting to turn the IC recorder off.
- The battery indicator is displayed a short time after you start charging. However, this does not mean the rechargeable battery is charged completely. It takes about 1 hour to fully charge an exhausted battery.
- The IC recorder has not been used for a certain time. Charge and discharge the rechargeable battery using the IC recorder several times.
- You are using the rechargeable battery in an environment with a temperature of under 5 °C. Battery life becomes shorter as a result of the battery characteristics. This is not a malfunction.

The rechargeable battery has deteriorated.
The rechargeable battery can be charged about 500 times (this depends on the environment where the IC recorder is used). If the length of time that the IC recorder can be used approximates only half of the normal time, even after the rechargeable battery is fully charged, consult your nearest Sony dealer.
