Selecting the microphone sensitivity (Mic Sensitivity)

You can set the microphone sensitivity for the built-in microphone. Set this menu item before you start recording.

  1. In the stop or recording mode, select MENU - the tab - “Mic Sensitivity,” and then press .

  2. Press or to select the desired level of the microphone sensitivity, and then press .
  3. Press souni_stopSTOP to exit the menu mode.

Descriptions of menu items

You can select one of the menu items available.

High:

To record a sound far away from the IC recorder or a low sound, such as recording in a spacious room.

Medium:

To record the sound of a normal conversation or meeting, such as recording in a meeting space or during interview.

(Initial setting)

Low:

To record dictation with a microphone in front of your mouth, a sound near the IC recorder, or a loud sound.

High(Music):

To record music played in a large room, such as a musical hall.

Low(Music):

To record music played nearby, such as piano lessons.

Note

  • You cannot set the microphone sensitivity when “Scene Select” in the menu has been set. Set “Scene Select” to “OFF” before setting “Mic Sensitivity.”
  • The microphone sensitivity is disabled when “Select Input” in the menu is set to “Audio IN,” or while recording an FM radio broadcast (ICD-UX533F/UX534F only).
