Recharging the battery using a USB AC adaptor

You can charge the rechargeable battery (ICD-UX533/UX533F/UX534F only) or use the IC recorder by connecting it to an AC outlet using a USB AC adaptor (not supplied). You can charge the battery while you are using the IC recorder, so that it is useful when you want to record for a long time.

When you use the IC recorder for the first time, or after you have not used the IC recorder for a certain period of time, charge the battery continuously until “” is displayed.

It takes about 3 hours 30 minutes to fully charge an exhausted battery. (*)

* This is an approximation for the time it takes to charge from no remaining battery power to full battery power at room temperature. It varies depending on the remaining power and the condition of the battery.

A: USB AC adaptor (not supplied)

Note

  • The ICD-UX532 model runs only on an LR03 (size AAA) alkaline battery and it does not use the rechargeable battery. However, it can be used when connected to the USB AC adaptor.
  1. Connect a USB AC adaptor (not supplied) to an AC outlet.
  2. Slide the USB DIRECT slide lever on the back of the IC recorder and connect the USB connector to the USB AC adaptor.

    While the battery is charging, the battery indicator () is displayed in an animation.

    Now you can use the IC recorder while charging the battery.

Note

  • While playing back files using the built-in speaker, you cannot charge the battery.
  • You cannot charge an LR03 (size AAA) alkaline battery (supplied with ICD-UX532).
  • During the FM listening and recording, you cannot charge a battery (ICD-UX533F/UX534F only).
