Updating the system software using a memory card (Android)

You can use a computer to download the latest system software, then store it to a memory card to update the system software of PCS. A memory card and a computer connected to the Internet are required.

  1. Visit Sony's website and download the latest system software file.

    For information on how to download the system software, refer to descriptions on the website.

  2. Connect a memory card to the computer to copy the system software to it.
  3. Disconnect the memory card and insert it in PCS.
  4. In the List screen of PCS Manager, tap (*) - [Settings].

    * The [] icon is not displayed on the screen of some Android devices. If the [] icon is not displayed on your screen, press the main menu button located outside of the screen.

  5. Tap [Information].
  6. Tap [Update System Software].
  7. Tap [Memory card].

    PCS checks whether the system software of PCS is the latest or not.

    If your system software is the latest version, [No new update software found.] will appear to indicate no update is necessary. Tap [OK] to complete.

  8. If [A new system software update is available.] appears, tap [Yes].

    The update process begins.

After the update process is complete, [Sign in after rebooting the system.] appears. Restart PCS.

Note

  • If updating fails, the illumination LED starts blinking red or an error message is displayed on PCS Manager. In that case, turn off PCS and turn it on again.
  • This function cannot be used when you have signed in to PCS in "Read-Only Access" mode.
