You can back up data in PCS to a USB device. The images that are added to PCS since the last backup are backed up. Prepare a USB mass-storage device that has enough free space to hold all of the data in PCS, such as a USB hard disk drive, for backup.
- Connect the USB mass-storage device to PCS.
Use a device of 2 TB capacity or less, formatted to FAT32.
- In the List screen of PCS Manager, tap

] icon is not displayed on your screen, press the main menu button located outside of the screen. - Tap [Backup and Restore].
- Tap [Backup] or [Start backup to USB device.].
- Tap [OK] or [Start].
The backup process begins. After completion, the screen returns to the previous List screen.
- Tap [OK].
Hint
- To cancel backup, tap [Cancel].

- To format an external USB hard disk drive, select [Settings] – [Backup and Restore] – [Format USB External HDD].
Note
- If the USB device does not have enough free space, an error message and the required free space are displayed.
- The maximum number of images that can be backed up is 100,000.
- Information about albums is not backed up. Only image files are backed up.
- The total file capacity PCS can recognize is up to 2 TB.
- The file system PCS can handle is FAT32 only.
- This function cannot be used when you have signed in to PCS in "Read-Only Access" mode.
