IR Remote Control

The included remote control, as well as the layout of the buttons and the button names, vary depending on your model/country/region.

Upper buttons on the remote control

At the top of the remote control, there are three buttons. Starting from the left, these are the Info/Text reveal, TV, and POWER buttons. The Info/Text reveal displays information. The TV button switches to a TV channel or input and displays the TV menu. The POWER button turns the TV on or switches to standby/networked standby mode. In the next row are the Subtitle, AUDIO, HELP, and EXIT buttons. The Subtitle button turns subtitles on or off. The AUDIO button has a tactile dot, and is used to select a multilingual source or dual sound for the program currently being viewed. The HELP button opens the Help menu. The EXIT button returns you to the previous screen or exits from the menu. When an Interactive Application service is available, press this to exit from the service. Below are four rows of Number buttons. Numbers 1, 2, and 3 are on the top row. 4, 5, 6 are on the second row, and 5 has a tactile dot. 7, 8, and 9 are on the third row. The Dot button, zero button, and Text button are on the fourth row. The Dot button is used with the 0 to 9 buttons to select digital channels. The Text button displays text information. Below the number buttons are four Color buttons. Starting from the left, these are Red, Green, Yellow, and Blue. These do different things in different menus. Below the Color buttons are buttons arranged in a square layout. There is a diamond-shaped directional pad used for navigating up, down, left and right. At the center is the Enter button which is the raised bump. The directional pad is surrounded by four corner buttons. The upper left is the INPUT button, which displays and selects the input source, etc. The upper right is the Quick Settings button, which displays a set of controls to preset picture, sound, etc. The lower left is the BACK button, which returns you to the previous screen. The lower right is the Control menu button, which displays a menu on the TV to use button functions that are not on the remote control. Below in the middle is the HOME button. It displays the home menu of the TV. Below this button, there is a long Volume button on the left. Press the upper part of the Volume button to increase the volume. Press the lower part of the same button to decrease the volume. On the right side, there is a long Channel button, with a tactile dot on the upper part. Press the upper part of the Channel button to increase the channel number or press the lower part of the same button to decrease the channel number. Between these two buttons, there is a JUMP button on the top, and MUTE button on the bottom. Use JUMP to jump back and forth between two channels or inputs. The TV alternates between the current channel or input and the last channel or input that was selected. Use MUTE to mute the sound. Press again to restore the sound. The accessibility shortcut service can also be turned on or off by pressing and holding this button. Below the Volume and Channel buttons is a row of three buttons. Starting from the left, these are the Dashboard, Play, and Guide buttons. Pressing the Dashboard button displays the Dashboard. There is a tactile dot on the PLAY button. The Guide button displays the digital program guide for the TV or TV box. Below these buttons is a row of four buttons. Starting from the left, these are the Rewind, Pause, Stop, and Fast forward buttons. Use these buttons to control your content.

(Info/Text reveal)

Display information.


TV

Switch to a TV channel or input and display the TV menu. For details, refer to Using the TV menu page.


(Power)

Turns on or switches to standby/networked standby mode.


(Subtitle setting)

Turn subtitles on or off (when the feature is available).


AUDIO

Select multilingual source sound or dual sound for the programme currently being viewed (depending on programme source).


HELP

Display the Help menu. Help Guide can be accessed from here.


EXIT

Return to the previous screen or exit from the menu. When an Interactive Application service is available, press to exit from the service.


Number Button/・(Dot)

Use with the 0-9 buttons to select digital channels.


(Text)

Display text information.


Colour buttons

Execute corresponding function at that time.

Lower buttons on the remote control

(Input select)

Display and select the input source, etc. For details, refer to the Selecting inputs page.


(Quick Settings)

Display Quick Settings. For details, refer to the Using the Quick Settings page.


(Up) / (Down) / (Left) / (Right) / (Enter) (Navigation D-Pad)

On screen menu navigation and selection.


(BACK)

Return to the previous screen.


(HOME)

Display the TV Home Menu. For details, refer to the Home menu page.


MENU

Display a menu on the TV to use button functions that are not on the remote control on the screen.


+/- (Volume)

Adjust the volume.


(Jump)

Jump back and forth between two channels or inputs. The TV alternates between the current channel or input and the last channel or input that was selected.


(Mute)

Mute the sound. Press again to restore the sound.

Hint

  • The accessibility shortcut service can be turned on or off by pressing and holding (Mute) for 3 seconds.


CH +/- (Channel)

In TV mode: Select the channel.
In Text mode: Select the (Next) or (Previous) page.


(Dashboard)

Display Dashboard.


(Play) / (Fast rewind) / (Pause) / (Stop) / (Fast forward)

Operate media contents on the TV and connected BRAVIA Sync-compatible device.


(Guide)

Display the digital programme guide of the TV or TV box. For details, refer to Using the programme guide page.


How to mute the remote control operation sound

  1. Press the (Quick Settings) button on the remote control, and select the following in order to disable them.

    [Settings] — [System] — [System sounds]

About replacing the remote control battery

  • Open the remote control cover as shown below.
  • Remove the remote control cover and replace the batteries with new ones.
  • Check that the orientation of each battery matches the positive (+) and negative (-) symbols in the battery compartment.
