Why is the fan audible, even when there is no operation?

• The speed of the cooling fan of your VAIO computer is automatically adjusted according to the internal temperature.
  When the CPU performs certain processing, even with no user operation, the fan may increase in speed. This is normal and does not indicate a malfunction.
