Recording a Program to the USB HDD Device
<TV tuner board installed models>

Your VAIO computer can record a program to a USB HDD device connected to the MONITOR ONLY USB port.
  1. Use a USB cable (A) between the MONITOR ONLY USB port on your VAIO computer (1) and the USB port of the USB HDD device (not supplied) (2).

Note
  • If you connect to a USB port other than the MONITOR ONLY USB port, your VAIO will not recognize the recording device.

  1. Press the HOME button on the remote.

  1. Select (Settings), System Settings, Recording Set-up, HDD Registration.

  1. Follow the instructions on the screen, and register the device.

  1. Press the HOME button on the remote.

  1. Select (TV), Guide.

  1. Select the program you want to record from the program list, then select Timer REC.

  1. Configure the timer setting, then select Set Timer.

Note
  • USB HDD capacities from 32 GB at minimum to 2 TB at maximum are supported.

  • Connecting a USB HDD device via a USB hub is not supported. Connect it directly to the MONITOR ONLY USB port on your VAIO computer.

  • Any data stored in the USB HDD device will be erased when it is formatted during the registration process.

  • The USB HDD device cannot be used with a PC once it is registered. To enable use of the USB HDD device on a PC, connect it to a USB port (not the MONITOR ONLY USB port), then format it on the PC. [Details] Note that any data in the USB HDD will be erased.

  • A maximum of 8 USB HDD devices can be registered.

  • You can only play back programs recorded in the USB HDD device on your VAIO computer.

Hint
  • You can record a program you are currently viewing by pressing the REC button on the remote.

  • If you press the remote MONITOR power button while recording a program, the recording will not be stopped.
