Initializing a USB HDD Device for Use with a PC
<TV tuner board installed models>

It is necessary to initialize a USB HDD device recorded with programs in order to use it with a PC.
When you initialize a USB HDD device, all data on the USB HDD device will be deleted.
  1. Disconnect all devices and media (including USB HDD devices) from your VAIO computer.

Otherwise, data on those devices and media may be deleted.
  1. Display the Computer screen. [Details] Right-click on Computer at the left side of the screen, then select Management.

  1. When Computer Management is displayed, select Storage, Disk Management from the left side of the list.

  1. Check the Disk 0 status of usage in the lower center of the screen.

If Disk 1 or Disk 2 appears on the display, a device(s) might be connected. Make sure all devices and media have been disconnected from your VAIO computer.
  1. Connect a USB HDD device to the USB port on the left side of your VAIO computer.

After a few seconds, Disk 1 appears in the lower center of the screen.
  1. Right-click on the four partitions to the right of Disk 1, then select Delete Volume.

When deletion is finished, Disk 1 changes to Unallocated.
  1. Right-click on Unallocated, then select New Simple Volume.

The screen for initializing appears. Follow the on-screen instructions to initialize.
