About time code
Time code is a useful function for advanced image editing, which records hours/minutes/seconds/frames on the image data.
About user bit
User bit is a function that can record information (8-digit hexadecimal numbers) such as date/time/scene number. This function is useful for editing movies created using two or more cameras.
- Press the NEXT button or PREV button to select [SETUP] - [CONFG] - [TC/UB], then press the ENTER button.
- Press the NEXT button or PREV button to select [DISP], [TCSET] or [UBSET], then press the ENTER button.
When selecting [DISP]
TC: Displays the time code.
U-BIT: Displays the user bit.
OFF: Does not display the time code/user bit.
When selecting [TCSET]
PrSet: Sets the time code.
- Set four 2-digit numbers, then press the ENTER button.
- The time code can be selected within the following range.
- When selecting 30p or 60p
00:00:00:00 - 23:59:59:29
- When selecting 25p or 50p
00:00:00:00 - 23:59:59:24
- When selecting 24p, you can set the last 2 time code digits of the frames in multiples of 4, between 0 and 23.
- When selecting 30p or 60p
RESET: Initializes the time code.
- Press the ENTER button to display [SURE?] while [OK] is displayed, then press the ENTER button again.
FORMT: Selects the time code recording method.
- DF: Records the time code in drop frame.
- NDF: Records the time code in non-drop frame.
- In the following situations, the time code is fixed to [NDF].
- When [VMODE] is set to 24p
- When [V.SYS] is set to [PAL]
RUN: Sets how the time code advances.
- REC: The time code advances only while recording XAVC S movies. It is recorded sequentially from the time code on the image recorded last time.
- FREE: The time code advances sequentially, regardless of the operation of the camera.
MAKE: Sets the time code to be recorded.
- PrSet: The newly set-up time code is recorded on recording media.
- REGEN: The last time code of the previous recording is read out from the recording media and the new time code is recorded sequentially from the last time code.
BACK: Returns to the [TCSET] menu.
When selecting [UBSET]
PrSet: Sets the user bit.
- Set four 2-digit numbers, then press the ENTER button.
- The user bit can be selected within the following range.
- 00 00 00 00 - FF FF FF FF
RESET: Initializes the user bit.
- Press the ENTER button to display [SURE?] while [OK] is displayed, then press the ENTER button again.
T.REC: Sets the recording time of the user bit.
- OFF: Does not record the time as a user bit.
- ON: Records the time as a user bit.
BACK: Returns to the [UBSET] menu.
Note
- When [V.FMT] is set to [MP4], [TC/UB] is not available.
