You can set sound effects and enrich the sound reproduction quality of the audio playback. VPT, which stands for Virtualphones Technology, is a proprietary sound processing technology developed by Sony.
[Studio], [Live], [Club], [Arena], [Matrix]
DSEE (Sound Enhance) function
This function recreates a rich, natural sound almost exactly like the original source by enhancing the sound quality of compressed audio files and restoring high-range sound removed by the compression process.
DSEE, which stands for Digital Sound Enhancement Engine, is a proprietary sound range restoration technology developed by Sony.
Clear Stereo function
This function uses digital processing to clearly distinguish between sound from the left and right of the supplied headphones, emphasizing the stereo effect during playback.
Hint
- You can also set the sound quality from the option menu in the music playback screen.
Note
- The [DSEE (Sound Enhance)] function does not work for songs that have not lost sound range because they are not in a compressed file format or songs with a high bitrate.
- The [DSEE (Sound Enhance)] function does not work effectively if the bit rate is too low to be properly supplemented.
- The [Clear Stereo] function is designed to obtain maximum effect with the supplied headphones. The Clear Stereo effect may not be obtained with other headphones. In this case, set [Clear Stereo] to [Off].
