Aperture Priority Shooting

You can adjust focus range or degree of background defocus.

  1. Set the mode dial to (Aperture Priority Shooting).
  2. Press on the control button, then select the desired value with /.

Decrease the aperture value: foreground and background are not focused.

Increase the aperture value: foreground and background are clearly focused.

  3. Focus on your subject and shoot.

Shutter speed is set automatically to achieve correct exposure.

Note

  • If proper exposure is not obtained after making settings, the setting value indicators on the screen flash. You can shoot in this condition, but we recommend that you adjust the flashing values again.
  • The brightness of the image displayed on the screen may differ from the actual recorded image.

Hint

  • With a lower aperture value (wider aperture), depth of field in front of and behind the subject is shallower, rendering surroundings softly focused, and the subject more distinctly portrayed. With a higher aperture value (narrower aperture), the depth of field in front of and behind the subject is deeper, portraying more landscape depth.
