Recordable time of movies

The table below shows the approximate maximum recording times. These are the total times for all movie files. Recordable time may vary depending on shooting conditions and the memory card.

(h (hour), m (minute), s (second))

1280x720(Fine)

Internal memory 55 MB: -

2 GB: 25 m (15 m)

4 GB: 50 m (30 m)

8 GB: 1 h 45 m (1 h 15 m)

16 GB: 3 h 40 m (2 h 35 m)

32 GB: 7 h 20 m (5 h 15 m)

32 GB: 18 h 45 m (16 h 20 m)

64 GB: 37 h 30 m (32 h 45 m)

The number in ( ) is the minimum recordable time.

Continuous shooting is possible for approximately 29 minutes (a product specification limit).

The maximum continuous recording time of [1280x720(Fine)] movie is about 15 minutes (limited by the 2 GB file size restriction).

Note

  • The recordable time of movies varies because the camera is equipped with VBR (Variable Bit Rate), which automatically adjusts image quality depending on the shooting scene.

When you record a fast-moving subject, the image is clearer but the recordable time is shorter because more memory is required for recording.

Recordable time also varies depending on shooting conditions, subject or image quality/size settings.
  • You cannot record movies to internal memory when the movie image size is [1280x720(Fine)] or [1280x720(Standard)].
