Connecting to a wireless LAN router

See Establishing a wireless LAN connection between a smartphone/tablet and a wireless LAN router for detailed instructions. IP settings are automatically configured by the DHCP function. To configure the IP settings manually, see "Configuring the IP settings and proxy server settings manually" below.

Configuring the IP settings and proxy server settings manually

  • Android

Tap the SSID of the wireless LAN router to be connected, then tap [Show Advanced Options].

  • iOS

Tap to the right of the SSID of the wireless LAN router to be connected.

  • To change the IP settings

Set [IP Settings ] to [Static] (Android), or set [DHCP] to [OFF] (iOS).

In [IP address], enter the IP address of PCS, then in [Gateway], enter the gateway address - [Subnet mask], then subnet mask and DNS server address in [DNS 1 ] and [DNS 2 ].

  • To change the proxy server settings

Set [Proxy Settings ] to [Manual] or [ON].

In [Server] and [Port], enter the host name and port number of the proxy server.

Tap [Connect] to display the message [PCS network settings will be changed. Connection between the application and PCS will be disconnected. Please set up the network connection again.]. Tap [OK].

Change the network settings of your smartphone/tablet to connect it to the wireless network to which PCS is connected. Terminate PCS Manager, and start it again.

Remembering a password of a wireless LAN router

When establishing a wireless LAN connection with a wireless LAN router, PCS remembers the password of the wireless LAN router to automatically connect to it next time. When connecting to another wireless LAN router, the old password is erased and the new one is remembered.

Hint

Note

  • The WEP authentication method cannot be used for the wireless LAN connection between PCS and a wireless LAN router. To use an authentication method, use a wireless LAN router that supports the WPA/WPA2 PSK authentication method.
  • This function cannot be used when you have signed in to PCS in "Read-Only Access" mode.
