Using Audio and Video Equipment
- Turn on the connected equipment.
- Press to display the input source, select the desired input source.
The highlighted item is selected if 5 seconds pass without any operation.
- When connecting a digital audio system not compatible with Audio Return Channel (ARC) technology using an HDMI cable, you need to connect an optical audio cable to the DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL)* to output digital sound.
- When connecting with an HDMI cable, be sure to use High Speed HDMI Cable with Cable Type Logo. When devices supporting High-Quality HDMI formats such as 4K 60p 4:2:0 10 bit, 4:4:4, 4:2:2 to HDMI IN 2 or IN 3, please use a Premium High Speed HDMI Cable that supports speed of 18 Gbps bearing the HDMI logo.
- When connecting mono equipment, connect the audio cable to the L (mono) jack.
- Only on limited region/country/TV model.
To use BRAVIA Sync devices
When connecting the TV to BRAVIA Sync compatible equipment, you can control them together.
Be sure to perform the necessary settings in advance. The BRAVIA Sync Control settings must be set on both the TV and the connected equipment. See [BRAVIA Sync Settings] for the settings on the TV side. [BRAVIA Sync Settings]
Refer to the connected equipment operating instructions for the settings on the connected equipment side.
Press the SYNC MENU button to display the BRAVIA Sync Menu and then select connected HDMI equipment from [Device Selection].
The following options can be selected from BRAVIA Sync Menu.
- Device Control:
- Use the [Device Control] to operate equipment that is compatible with BRAVIA Sync Control. Select options from [Home (Menu)], [Options], [Content List] and [Power Off] to operate the equipment.
- Select [TV Speakers] or [Audio System] to output the TV’s sound from the TV speakers or connected audio equipment.
- TV Control:
- Use the [TV Control] menu to operate the TV from the [Home (Menu)] or [Options] menu.
- Return to TV:
- Select this option to return to the TV programme.

- 640 x 480, 31.5 kHz/60 Hz
- 800 x 600, 37.9 kHz/60 Hz
- 1024 x 768, 48.4 kHz/60 Hz
- 1152 x 864, 67.5 kHz/75 Hz
- 1280 x 720, 44.8 kHz/60 Hz*1*2
- 1280 x 1024, 64.0 kHz/60 Hz
- 1600 x 900, 55.9 kHz/60 Hz
- 1680 x 1050, 65.3 kHz/60 Hz
- 1920 x 1080, 67.5 kHz/60 Hz*2
- Not supported depending on your model.
- The 1080p and 720p timing when applied to the HDMI input will be treated as a video timing and not PC timing for Screen format.
Other video input signals
The following video formats can be displayed depending on specifications of your computer.
- 480p, 480i
- 576p*1, 576i*1
- 720p/30Hz, 720p/50Hz*1, 720p/60Hz
- 1080i/50Hz*1, 1080i/60Hz
- 1080p/30Hz, 1080p/50Hz*1, 1080p/60Hz
- 3840 x 2160p/24Hz, 3840 x 2160p/25Hz*1, 3840 x 2160p/30Hz (4K models only)
- 3840 x 2160p/50Hz*1*3, 3840 x 2160p/60Hz*3 (4K models only)
- 4096 x 2160p/24Hz*2 (4K models only)
- 4096 x 2160p/50Hz*1*2*3, 4096 x 2160p/60Hz*2*3 (4K models only)
- Not supported depending on your region/country.
- When 4096 x 2160p is input and [Screen Format] is set to [Normal], the resolution is displayed as 3840 x 2160p.
To display 4096 x 2160p, set [Screen Format] setting to [Full 1] or [Full 2].
- Supported only by HDMI IN 2/3 depending on your model.
- 1920 x 1080/60 Hz output may not be available, depending on your computer. Even if 1920 x 1080/60 Hz output is selected, the actual output signal may differ. In this case, change the computer’s settings, then set your computer to use a different video signal.
