Linear PCM RecorderPCM-D100

Monitoring sound while recording

Recording can be monitored by connecting headphones (not supplied) to the (headphones) jack.

  1. Connect the headphones to the (headphones) jack.
  2. Turn the VOLUME dial to adjust the monitoring volume.
Monitoring volume does not affect to the recording level.

Note

  • The linear PCM recorder may record a rustling noise if the headphones cord touches the linear PCM recorder during recording. The rustling noise can be reduced by holding the cord away from the linear PCM recorder.
  • If you turn up the volume excessively or place the headphones near the microphone while monitoring recording, the microphone may pick up the sound from the headphones, causing acoustic feedback (howling).

Hint

  • For best results, use closed-type headphones which have less sound leakage.
