Recording across memory media (cross-memory recording)
If the memory media currently being used becomes full during recording, the linear PCM recorder automatically switches the recording destination to the other memory media and continues recording (Cross-memory recording).
- In the recording stop mode when using the built-in microphones, external microphone or analog line input, press and hold the HOME/BACK button for more than 1 second, select “Cross-Memory Recording” and then press the button.
- Press or to select “ON,” and then press the button.
“Cross-Memory Recording” is set to “OFF” when you purchase the linear PCM recorder.
- Press the HOME/BACK button to exit the OPTION menu.
When the current memory media becomes full during recording, the “Switch memory and continue recording” animation appears in the display window. Recording continues as a new file in a recordable folder of the smallest folder number available on the other memory media.
A new file is created with a new file name.
Note
-
If the other memory media is also full, a message is displayed and the linear PCM recorder stops recording.
- When you play back the original file recorded with cross-memory recording, the linear PCM recorder does not play the succeeding file automatically.
- Before attempting cross-memory recording, check in advance to see if the linear PCM recorder can switch the memory media to “Memory Card.”
- Cross-memory recording does not work if you insert a memory card into the linear PCM recorder during recording.
- When you are recording files with cross-memory recording, the sound may be partially interrupted after the memory media has been switched.
- You cannot configure “Cross-Memory Recording” while in playback mode.
Hint
- To cancel cross-memory recording, set “Cross-Memory Recording” to “OFF” in step 2.
