Linear PCM RecorderPCM-D100

Structure of folders and files

The folders and files are displayed on the computer screen as shown. Folders and files can be displayed by opening “PCMRECORDER” or “MEMORY CARD” using Explorer on a Windows computer, or Finder on a Mac.

Built-in memory

A: Folders for files recorded using the linear PCM recorder

B: Folders transferred from your computer

*1 The VOICE folder contains 5 folders (FOLDER01 to FOLDER05). Folders and files under the VOICE folder are displayed within “ Recorded Files” from the HOME menu.

*2 You can transfer music folders from your computer to the built-in memory. Folders under the MUSIC folder are displayed within “ Music” from the HOME menu. The name of a folder in which music files are stored will be displayed on the linear PCM recorder as it is, so it is convenient if you put an easy-to-remember name on the folder in advance. Folders shown in the illustration are examples of folder names.

*3 The linear PCM recorder can recognize up to 8 levels of folders transferred to the linear PCM recorder.

*4 If you transfer music files directly under “PCMRECORDER,” they are classified as being in “No Folder.”

Hint

  • The title or artist name, etc., registered in the music files, can be displayed on the linear PCM recorder. It is useful if you input the information using the software you use to make the music files on your computer.
  • If no title or artist name has been registered, “No Data” is displayed in the display window of the linear PCM recorder.

Memory Stick™

When connecting the linear PCM recorder with your computer after the destination memory media has been set to “Memory Card,” the structure of folders is different from that when the destination memory media is set to “Built-In Memory.”
