Adding and editing contacts
You can add, edit or delete contacts on your device and from synchronized accounts. Add contact pictures or set individual ringtones to personalize contacts. You can also edit contact information about yourself.
To add a contact
- Find and tap
(Contacts icon). - Tap
(Add new contact icon). - If you’re adding a contact for the first time and have multiple accounts synchronized to your device, select an account. This becomes the default account for saving your contacts. Later you can select where to save the contact by tapping (Add new contact icon) > Saving to.
- Enter or select the desired information for the contact.
- When you’re finished, tap SAVE.
Note
To change the default setting for saving your contacts, tap 
(Options icon) and select the new account. Alternatively, select Phone contact to save contacts only to your device. To move an existing contact to a new account, you must create the contact again and save it to the new account.
Hint
If you add a plus sign and the country code before a contact’s phone number, you do not have to edit the number again when you make calls from abroad.
To edit a contact
- Find and tap (Contacts icon).
- Tap the contact that you want to edit, then tap
(Edit icon). - Edit the desired information.
- When you are finished, tap SAVE.
Note
Some synchronization services do not allow you to edit contact details.
To add or remove a contact picture
- Find and tap (Contacts icon).
- Tap the contact that you want to edit, then tap (Edit icon).
- Tap
(Camera icon), then select an option. - After the picture is updated, tap SAVE.
Hint
You can also add a picture to a contact directly from the Album application.
To personalize the ringtone for a contact
- Find and tap (Contacts icon).
- Tap the contact that you want to edit, then tap
(Menu icon) > Set ringtone. - Select a ringtone or tap
(Add icon) to select a music file saved on your device. - Tap OK.
To send all calls to voicemail for a contact
- Find and tap (Contacts icon).
- Select the desired contact.
- Tap (Menu icon) > Route to voicemail.
To delete contacts
- Find and tap (Contacts icon).
- Touch and hold the contact that you want to delete.
- Tap
(Delete icon), then tap DELETE. - To delete several or all contacts, mark the checkboxes beside the contacts that you want to delete.
- Tap (Delete icon), then tap DELETE.
To edit contact information about yourself
- Find and tap (Contacts icon).
- Tap (Options icon) > My info.
- Tap (Edit icon), then enter the new information or make the changes you want.
- When you are finished, tap SAVE.
To create a new contact from a text message
- Find and tap
(Messages icon). - Select a phone number, then tap
(Menu icon) > Add contact. - Select an existing contact, or tap Create new contact.
- Edit the contact information and tap SAVE.
