Setting up a wireless LAN connection

(A) Using a wireless LAN router equipped with a WPS button

Follow the instructions in Establishing a wireless LAN connection between PCS and a wireless LAN router using the WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) button to connect a smartphone/tablet to PCS via a wireless LAN router.

If you cannot establish connection with procedure (A), try procedure (B).

If the smartphone/tablet is connected to the same wireless LAN router as PCS, connection between PCS and the smartphone/tablet via wireless LAN router can be established with procedure (A) only.

If the smartphone/tablet is not connected to the wireless LAN router, connect it following the instructions in Establishing a wireless LAN connection between a smartphone/tablet and a wireless LAN router.

(B) Using a wireless LAN router not equipped with a WPS button

Follow the instructions below to connect the smartphone/tablet to PCS via wireless LAN router.

  1. Establishing a wireless LAN connection between PCS and a smartphone/tablet using Wi-Fi Direct
  2. Starting PCS Manager
  3. Signing in to PCS
  4. (1) Establishing a wireless LAN connection between PCS and a wireless LAN router using PCS Manager installed on a smartphone/tablet

    or

    (2) Establishing a wireless LAN connection between PCS and a wireless LAN router using the WPS PIN method

If the smartphone/tablet is connected to the same wireless LAN router as PCS, connection is established.

If the smartphone/tablet is not connected to the wireless LAN router, connect it following the instructions in Establishing a wireless LAN connection between a smartphone/tablet and a wireless LAN router.

(C) Connecting a smartphone/tablet to PCS without a wireless LAN router, using Wi-Fi Direct mode

Follow the instructions in Establishing a wireless LAN connection between PCS and a smartphone/tablet using Wi-Fi Direct to connect a smartphone/tablet directly to PCS.

Hint

  • If your NFC-equipped smartphone/tablet (with Android OS 4.0 or higher) is configured as described in NFC (Near Field Communication) settings, just touch its N-Mark against the N-Mark of PCS. The PCS tries to establish a Wi-Fi connection it used last time to communicate with PCS Manager.
