Changing the settings of this unit from your computer via a browser (Access control)

You can set the access method to this unit from your computer.

For details on how to connect via wireless LAN, see "Connecting via wireless LAN."

Notes

  • You cannot change settings in guest mode.
  1. Connect this unit and a computer using wireless LAN directly.
  2. Enter the following address in the address bar of the web browser to access the setting screen of this unit.

    http://192.168.41.1/

    Windows: Internet Explorer, Mac: Safari

  3. Click [Access control].
  4. Select [Owner] or [Guest].
  5. Set the following items.

    When [Owner] is selected

    • Security

      Select [Open] (no security) or [WPA2-PSK AES] (with security protection).

    • Wireless Password

      Set a password (8 - 63 characters) when [WPA2-PSK AES] is selected for "Security."

    • IP address

      Enter an IP address. (*)

      * Change the IP address only when the same network address is applied to another device.

    When [Guest] is selected

    • Guest Connection

      Set whether or not connection in guest mode is allowed.

    • Security

      Select [Open] (no security) or [WPA2-PSK AES] (with security protection).

    • Wireless Password

      Set a password (8 - 16 characters) when [WPA2-PSK AES] is selected for "Security."

    • IP address

      Enter an IP address.

    • Accessible folder

      Select folders that can be viewed in guest mode.

Note

  • Setting security is extremely important when using devices equipped with the wireless LAN function. If the security is not set, it is possible for the unit to be accessed from any compatible device within the communication range. To protect your data, be sure to set up the security.
  • If you cannot connect to the address described in step 2, see whether a proxy has been set up. If a proxy has been set up, remove the checkmark. If you still cannot connect, disconnect the LAN cable from the computer.
  • Note that folders that are not accessible in guest mode can be viewed when this unit is accessed from a DLNA certified device.
