Listening to music on an iPhone/iPad/iPod
You can listen to music on an iPhone/iPad/iPod that is connected to the speaker with a USB cable.
Update the software of the iPhone/iPad/iPod before connecting to the speaker.
- Connect an iPhone/iPad/iPod to the USB A port (A).
- Tap the USB-A button.
The speaker switches to the USB-A mode and the USB-A indicator lights up in white.
- Operate the iPhone/iPad/iPod to start playback and adjust the volume to a moderate level.
- Tap the VOL (volume) –/+ button to adjust the volume.
When you tap the VOL (volume) –/+ button, the (on/standby) indicator flashes once or three times according to the volume adjustment.
To enjoy a more dynamic sound
Remove the speaker grille from the front of the speaker with the speaker grille detach tool (supplied).*
*Keep the removed grille on a flat surface to prevent distortion.
Note
- Do not touch the exposed part of the speaker (speaker units) after removing the speaker grille.
What you can do with the speaker and remote control during playback
You can adjust the volume using the VOL (volume) –/+ buttons of the speaker or the VOLUME +/- buttons of the remote control.
You can also use the MUTING button, (Play/Pause) button, and / (Previous/Next) button of the remote control.
Note
- If there is noise, turn off the iPhone/iPad/iPod once, then turn it on again.
- The speaker supports only audio playback functions of an iPhone/iPad/iPod.
- Do not connect a non-supported iPhone/iPad/iPod. Sony does not guarantee correct operation of a non-supported iPhone/iPad/iPod.
- Sony is not responsible for any loss or damage to data in an iPhone/iPad/iPod that is connected to the speaker.
- Do not disconnect an iPhone/iPad/iPod during operation. To prevent damage to data, stop playback, then turn off the power of the speaker before disconnecting the iPhone/iPad/iPod.
- If sound is distorted, set the equalizer of your iPhone/iPad/iPod to “Off” or “Flat.”
- Turn on the power of the iPhone or iPod touch before connecting it to the speaker; otherwise, operation will not be possible.
- Depending on the connected iPhone/iPad/iPod, loud sound may suddenly be output when the volume is adjusted.
