  • Check whether the volume level is set to zero.

  • The POWER switch or OUTPUT switch is not set to the correct position.
    • When you listen to music imported to your Walkman, slide the POWER switch to ON/WALKMAN. For listening with the Walkman over your ears, slide the OUTPUT switch to . For listening from the speakers by wearing the Walkman around your neck, slide the OUTPUT switch to .
    • When you listen to music from another player by connecting it to your Walkman, slide the POWER switch to OFF/HEADPHONES.
  • When you listen to music from another player, the headphone cable is not connected properly both to your Walkman and the player. Sound will be impaired if the headphone cable is not connected properly. Insert the headphone plug until it clicks into place. If the headphone plug is dirty, wipe it clean with a soft dry cloth.
  • If the problem persists after performing the remedies above, use a pen or paper clip, etc. to press the RESET button and reset your Walkman.
