This unit is precision equipment. Do not drop the unit, hit it, or subject it to a strong physical impact.

Do not touch the electrical contacts on this unit with bare hands.

Do not use or store this unit in a place subject to high temperatures and humidity.

When using this unit outdoors, keep the unit from exposure to rain or seawater.

For interior inspection and repair of this unit, contact your Sony dealer or local authorized Sony service facility.

When using this unit in an aircraft or a hospital, follow the instructions from the airline company or the hospital to avoid possible interference with instruments or medical devices caused by radio waves from this unit.

Although this unit is designed and built to be dustproof and drip-proof, it cannot completely prevent the ingress of dust or water droplets.
Notes on the grip/tripod (GP-VPT3)

If the total weight of the mounted camera and attached accessories exceeds the maximum weight limit of this unit, the unit may fall over, resulting in damage.

Be sure to mount your camera securely to this unit. Also, when shooting while holding the grip/tripod, be sure to hold it firmly. Dropping the camera or the unit could result in accidents or injuries.

Do not swing this unit around while a camera is mounted on it.

Depending on the camera mounted on this unit, the camera's screen may not fully open due to interference with the grip head. If this happens, do not force the screen open.

When adjusting the tilt angle of the grip/tripod or the facing direction of the camera mounted on this unit, be sure to hold the camera or its lens with your hand.

When using this unit, or when lifting or carrying it, always hold it by the grip/tripod. If you use or lift it by holding only the remote commander, the remote commander may be detached from the grip/tripod, causing the camera to fall and possibly resulting in an accident or injury.

Do not carry this unit by holding only the strap (commercially available).
-
When using the strap, do not subject this unit to strong shocks or vibrations. This may cause accidents or injuries.
-
For instructions on how to properly attach/detach the remote commander to/from the grip/tripod, see “Attaching/detaching the remote commander (GP-VPT3).” Improper attachment or detachment may cause the remote commander to fall, leading to accidents, injuries, or damage to this unit.

Be careful not to pinch your fingers in the following situations.

When attaching the remote commander

When opening and closing the tripod

When adjusting the angle of the grip

When using this unit as a tripod, spread its legs to full extent and place the unit on a flat surface. Depending on the tilt angle of the grip head or the mounted camera, the unit may lose its balance and wobble. Do not use the unit if it wobbles.

When using this unit with a camera that has accessories attached, make sure the unit remains balanced.
Depending on the accessories, some may not be compatible for use.

Do not use this unit in a place subject to blowing wind or vibration to avoid the risk of falling over.
Places to avoid for usage and storage
Places exposed to direct sunlight or near heat sources
Storing or using the unit in such places may cause discoloration, deformation, or malfunction.
Notes on the battery

Do not ingest battery, chemical burn hazard. This unit contains a coin/button cell battery.
If the coin/button cell battery is swallowed, it can cause severe internal burns in just 2 hours and can lead to death. Keep new and used batteries away from children. If the battery cover does not close securely, stop using the product and keep it away from children. If you think batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention.

Make sure that the battery is worn out before disposal. To dispose of the battery, insulate the battery contacts with an adhesive strip.
If the battery fluid leaks, wipe away any fluid on the battery chamber before inserting a new battery.
If the battery fluid comes in contact with your body or clothing, thoroughly rinse it away with water.

Depending on the length of the post production period, even a new battery may have a shorter life.
Notes on cleaning
Clean this unit surface with a soft cloth slightly moistened with water, then wipe the surface with a dry cloth. To prevent damage to the finish:

Do not expose this unit to chemical products such as thinner, benzine, alcohol, disposable cloths, insect repellent, sunscreen or insecticide.

Do not touch this unit with any of the above on your hand.

Do not leave this unit in contact with rubber or vinyl for a long time.
