Changes to the Camera app (Xperia 1 VIII only)

The AI Camera Assistant feature in the Photo mode now allows you to register up to three custom looks. You can also change the name of each custom look.

Registering custom looks

  1. In the Photo mode, tap one of the recommended adjustments displayed as mini previews.

  2. Find and tap the following icon in the bottom left (in the portrait orientation) or in the bottom right (in the landscape orientation) of the viewfinder to display the Brightness/Color adjustments screen.

  3. Drag each slider to adjust the settings to your preference.

  4. Tap the following.

    [Register]

    • Custom looks will be registered in the order of Custom 1 to Custom 3. If you register more than three custom looks, select one of the custom looks to overwrite.
    • You can change the name when registering a custom look.
  5. Tap the following icon in the upper left of the Brightness/Color adjustments screen to return to the viewfinder.

Using a custom look

  • If you want to use a registered custom look, find and tap as follows.

    (Look) > the desired custom look

  • You can readjust the custom look settings after you have registered the custom look. Find and tap as follows.

    (Look) > the desired custom look

    Then, tap the custom look again to display the Brightness/Color adjustments screen. Drag each slider to adjust the settings to your preference.

    To change the custom look name, tap the following icon.

Hint

  • You can automatically back up the custom look settings to your Google account.

    Find and tap as follows.

    [Settings] > [Google] > [Manage backup] > [Other device data]

    Then, turn the following switch on.
