Changes and new features in Wallpaper & style

The following screen layout has changed, and you can configure more settings.

[Settings] > [Wallpaper & style]

Hint

  • The Wallpaper & style screen can also be accessed by touching and holding an empty area on the Home screen and tapping the following from the menu.

Changes to the settings of the Lock screen

You can now change your wallpaper in the following way.

Swipe the preview image to the right to select the Lock screen.

Tap the desired wallpaper design.

Then, find and tap as follows to apply the wallpaper.

[Next] > [Apply]

If you want to change to a wallpaper design other than the one displayed, tap the following.

[More wallpapers]


To change settings other than the wallpaper, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to display the settings menu.

  • The method for setting the clock has changed, and you can now change the design. To change the display of the clock on the Lock screen, find and tap as follows.

    [Clock]

    Change the desired settings from the following.

    [Style]/[Color]/[Size]

    Then, tap the following.

    [Apply]

  • The following switch has been removed.

    [Show notifications on the lock screen]

    You can now find and tap the following item to select the types and display format of notifications.

Note

  • (Xperia 1 VII/Xperia 1 VI/Xperia 10 VII only) If you have set a shortcut to the Camera app on the Lock screen, the shortcut will be deleted after updating the software of your device to Android 17. You can set the shortcut to the Camera app again by tapping the following.

Changes to the settings of the Home screen

You can now change your wallpaper in the following way.

Swipe the preview image to the left to select the Home screen.

Tap the desired wallpaper design.

Then, find and tap as follows to apply the wallpaper.

[Next] > [Apply]

If you want to change to a wallpaper design other than the one displayed, tap the following.

[More wallpapers]

  • You can now customize icons. Find and tap as follows.

    [Icons]

    Then, select and change the desired settings.

    Style: You can choose the style of icons.

    Shape: You can choose the shape of icons.

    Tap the following in the upper right corner of the screen to apply the changes.

    [Apply]
