Changes to the Wi-Fi® tethering settings (Xperia 1 VII/Xperia 1 VI/Xperia 10 VII only)

The procedure for changing settings on the Wi-Fi tethering settings screen has changed.

You can change the default hotspot name, security system, hotspot password, and other Wi-Fi hotspot settings of your device.

  1. Tap as follows.
    [Settings] > [Network & internet] > [Hotspot & tethering] > [Wi‑Fi hotspot]
  2. Tap the desired item to change the settings.

Note

  • If you are using a Wi-Fi hotspot in the 6 GHz band, select a security system from among the following.

    [WPA3-Personal]/[WPA2/WPA3-Personal]/[Enhanced Open]

    (Xperia 1 VII/Xperia 1 VI only)

Hint

  • The default setting for the hotspot name is “Xperia_XXXX” (XXXX is a four-digit number).

  • Set a password if the following is displayed when you change the security system.

    [Hotspot password]

    The password for the Wi-Fi hotspot is set randomly by default, but you can change the password as you like.

  • Tap the icon to display a QR code with Wi-Fi hotspot information.

    You can easily use a Wi-Fi hotspot by scanning the QR code.
