Making a call

You can enjoy hands-free calls with a BLUETOOTH mobile phone that supports HFP (Hands-free Profile) or HSP (Headset Profile).

To use this function, make sure that a BLUETOOTH connection has been established.

Operations may vary depending on the BLUETOOTH mobile phone. Refer to the operating instructions supplied with the mobile phone.

Note

  • For Apple iOS devices, the system is compatible with iOS 10.0 or later.

    A BLUETOOTH connection is not available on the devices with iOS 9.x or earlier.

  • Depending on the model of your mobile phone, the operation system or applications installed, some functions of hands-free calling may not work correctly.

  • If more than one BLUETOOTH devices are connected to the speaker (Multi-device connection), you cannot receive a phone call. Cancel the multi-device connection. Terminate the BLUETOOTH connection or turn off the BLUETOOTH function of the BLUETOOTH devices other than the BLUETOOTH mobile phone in use.

  • The volume of music playback and call is different. Adjust the volume during calling.

  • If the caller cannot hear or can barely hear your voice, talk more closely into the built-in microphone of the system.

  • Noise may result if the system and the BLUETOOTH mobile phone are too close. Place the BLUETOOTH mobile phone further if noise is heard.

  1. Make a call by operating the connected BLUETOOTH mobile phone.

    When you make a call, playback will pause and the system will emit a dial tone.

    When you use the Speaker Add function or Wireless Party Chain function, connect to the system in which the(BLUETOOTH) indicator lights up in blue. In the following steps and operations during a hands-free call, operate the system that is connected to the BLUETOOTH mobile phone.

  2. Talk into the system’s built-in microphone when the other party answers the call.

  3. Press(play/pause)/(call) to end the call.

To switch the phone call output from the system to the mobile phone and vice versa

Hold down(play/pause)/(call) while talking.

Hint

  • If your BLUETOOTH mobile phone supports both HFP and HSP, set it to HFP.

  • If you were listening to music before the call, playback will resume when the call ends.
