Listening to Music on a USB Device (models with the PLAY ONLY (USB) port only)
You can play music files stored on a connected USB device.

Connect the USB device to the PLAY ONLY (USB) port.
The speaker system starts loading audio files on the USB device.
The (Power) indicator on the front speaker flashes in green while loading files.

Press (call)/ (play).
The speaker system starts playback of music files stored on the USB device and sound is output from the speaker system.
You can perform playback operation by tapping the playback operation icon on the remote control screen of the app.
You can also perform the following operations by pressing (call)/ (play) during music playback.
- Press once to start/stop playback.
- Press twice to move to the next track.
- Press three times to move to the previous track.
Note
- The speaker system is unable to play audio files on the USB device in the event of the following:
- The total number of audio files on the connected USB device exceeds 2 000.
- The number of folders on the connected USB device exceeds 300, including the “ROOT” folder.
The above figures vary depending on the file and folder structure. On the USB device containing audio files, do not save files of different types or unnecessary folders.
- The speaker system is capable of playing audio files contained in up to the 8th level sub-folders.
- Folders containing no audio files are skipped for playback.
- While a USB device is connected to the PLAY ONLY (USB) port, priority is given to the audio output through the USB port and audio outputs from the BLUETOOTH device is disabled. Depending on the state of the BLUETOOTH connection, the (BLUETOOTH) indicator on the front speaker lights or flashes in blue. This, however does not indicate a malfunction.
- If the actual content of a file with the supported file extension is not what it should be, playing the file may cause the speaker system to emit noises or to malfunction.
Compatible USB devices
- USB devices compliant with USB Mass Storage Class
- USB devices formatted with the FAT (except exFAT) file system
Some USB devices may not work with the speaker system even if the devices meet the above conditions.
Using iPhone devices via USB connection is not supported.
Note
- When USB cable connection is necessary, use the USB cable supplied with the USB device. See the operating instructions supplied with the USB device for details on the operation method.
- Do not connect the speaker system and the USB device through a USB hub.
- When the USB device is connected, the speaker system reads all the files on the USB device. If there are many folders or files on the USB device, it may take a long time to finish reading the USB device.
- With some connected USB devices, there may be a delay before an operation is performed by this speaker system.
- Compatibility with all encoding/writing software cannot be guaranteed. If audio files on the USB device were originally encoded with incompatible software, those files may produce noise or interrupted audio, or may not play at all.
- This speaker system does not necessarily support all the functions provided in a connected USB device.
