Turning the screen on or off

When your screen is turned off, your device can be locked or unlocked, depending on your screen lock setting.

  1. Briefly press the power button.

Hint

  • You can turn the screen on by pressing the shutter button or volume button. To enable the function, find and tap as follows, and then tap the switch.

    [Settings] > [System] > [Gestures] > [Wake up display on keypress]

  • You can show the date, time, and battery level and status even when the screen is turned off.

    You can also set the screen to turn on for new notifications.

    Find and tap as follows.

    [Settings] > [Display] > [Lock screen]

    Then, tap the following switches to turn the functions on or off.

    • [Always show time and info]

    • [Wake screen for notifications]

  • To set the screen unlocking method, find and tap as follows.

    [Settings] > [Security]
