Playback methods

This topic includes instructions for the following operations.

  • Selecting the playback mode.
  • Setting the playback range.
  • The relationship between playback mode and playback range.

Selecting the playback mode

  1. On the playback screen in “Music player”, tap the area (1 or 2) to select a playback mode.

    • (Shuffle)
    • (Repeat 1 song)
    • (Repeat all)

    When (Shuffle) and (Repeat all) are lit up, “Music player” will play all tracks in the selected playback range randomly.

    To return to the normal playback mode, tap the icons so that both (Shuffle) and (Repeat) darken.

Hint

  • You can also set the playback mode from the option menu. Tap the menu items in the following order.
    (Options) － [Settings].
    Then, select the desired playback mode from [Shuffle] or [Repeat].
  • When a track list is displayed, you can start shuffle playback with the displayed track list as the playback range by tapping the shuffle playback button.

Setting the playback range

  1. Tap the menu items in the following order.
    (Options) － [Settings] － [Playback range].

  2. Tap the desired playback range.

The relationship between playback mode and playback range

When you set [Playback range] to [All range]

  • (Shuffle)
    All tracks are played in random order.
    To shuffle all the tracks in “Music player”, select [All songs] on the library screen.
    If you select a track from [Album] on the library screen, “Music player” will shuffle all the tracks in the selected album. When “Music player” finishes playing all the tracks in the album, playback will proceed to the next album. Then, “Music player” will shuffle all the tracks in the album.

  • Repeat off
    All tracks are played in sequential order.

  • (Repeat all)
    All tracks are played repeatedly.
    To repeat all the tracks in “Music player”, select [All songs] on the library screen.

  • (Repeat 1 song)
    The current track is played repeatedly.

When you set [Playback range] to [Selected range]

  • (Shuffle)
    Tracks in the selected range are played in random order. (*1)

  • Repeat off
    Tracks in the selected range are played in sequential order. (*1)

  • (Repeat all)
    Tracks in the selected range are played repeatedly. (*1)

  • (Repeat 1 song)
    The current track is played repeatedly.

*1 “Selected range” means one album or one artist, for example.

Note

  • When you select a track from a playlist or Favorites, “Music player” plays tracks in the selected item only. Tracks in other items will not be played even when [Playback range] is set to [All range].
  • When you search by keyword on the library screen and select a track from search results, “Music player” plays the selected track only. Other tracks in the search results will not be played even when [Playback range] is set to [All range].
