AF-S during mov rec

When recording a movie in the [Single-shot AF] mode, you can set whether or not it is possible to adjust the focus by pressing the SHUTTER/MOVIE button halfway down. This function is useful when the distance between the camera and the subject changes during recording, or when you want to change the angle of view during recording.

This function can be used when the camera’s system software (firmware) is Ver.2.00 or later.

  1. MENU (Camera Settings2) → [AF-S during mov rec] → desired setting.

Menu item details

On:
The auto-focusing can be operated during movie recording by pressing the SHUTTER/MOVIE button halfway down.
Off:
The auto-focusing cannot be operated during movie recording by pressing the SHUTTER/MOVIE button halfway down.

Hint

  • During movie recording in the manual focus mode, you can use [One-push AF] to readjust the focus.

Note

  • When you use this function, the angle of view changes and AF operating sounds are recorded in movies.
    In some cases, you can reduce the volume of the recorded operating sounds by using an external microphone.
