Mode overview (Photo)

The interface switches automatically, so you can use the camera both vertically and horizontally.

  1. Google Lens (Main camera only)

  2. Status indications

    • (Flash): Tap to turn the flash off or set it to auto. The background color of the flash icon turns white when the flash activates.

    • (Night shooting) : The icon appears when the light conditions become low and the Night shooting function automatically turns on. The function allows you to take clear photos at night or in dark conditions. You can temporarily turn off the function by tapping the icon.

  4. Use the zoom button to zoom in or out.

  5. Tap one of the angle buttons to switch angles of view.

    When the zoom ratio is set from 0.7× to 0.9×, the ultra-wide lens is used. When the zoom ratio is set to 1.0× or more, the wide lens is used.

    To zoom in or out on the image, slide the angle button to the left and right (in the portrait orientation) or up and down (in the landscape orientation). You can seamlessly zoom in and out without switching angles of view.

    You can also zoom in or out on the image by pinching in or out on the viewfinder or by pressing the zoom button.

    Note

    • The Auto focus function works only when you use the wide lens.
  6. Use the shutter button to launch the Camera app or take photos.

    Hint

    • To activate launching the Camera app by long-pressing the shutter button, find and tap as follows, and then tap the switch.

      [Settings] > [System] > [Gestures] > [Shutter button] > [Launch Camera app]

    • You can select the action performed when you press and hold the shutter button while using the Camera app. Find and tap as follows.

      (Settings) > [Menu] > [Press and hold shutter button]

      You can select from among the following settings.

      Video recording / Switch modes / Off

  7. Tap to change settings.

    • Aspect ratio: Tap to change the aspect ratio.
    • Timer: Tap to select a self-timer setting.
    • Flash: Tap to select a flash setting. While using the front camera, the entire screen will light up when the flash is turned on.

    Tap the button to change more detailed settings.

  8. You can switch between the front and main camera.

    Note

    • The Auto focus function does not work when you use the front camera.
  9. You can select a mode.

    Swipe the screen left or right to find the desired mode.

  10. Tap the button to go back or exit the Camera app.

  11. Tap the thumbnail to view photos and videos in the Google Photos app.

    (Share): Tap the icon to share a photo or a video.

    (Edit): Tap the icon to edit a photo or a video.

    To hide or show icons, tap the screen.

    (Back): Tap the button to return to the Camera app.

  12. Use the shutter button to take photos.

  13. Tap the icon to select the finish of images. (Look)

    Each preset look is optimized with a different combination of color tone, saturation, contrast, sharpness, brightness, and other image elements, so you can set up image processing with your ideal balance of these elements.
